It can cause everything from cancer to asthma to arthritis... the list goes on and on. I am only 37 and over the last 5 years have developed many minor, unexplained auto-immune issues out of the blue. And now it looks like my mattress may be the culprit. I have slept on very costly temperpedic beds and knew that it was worth it for me to get one. I was on a allocation and hoping to get more bang for my buck. It arrived in a box that i was able to get upstairs with ome help (here's no handles on box, it's awkward and weighs 50-70lbs). I opened box thought about and thought about removed plastic liner. I had purchased two sheets of heavy duty plywood ($20 a sheet from Home Depot and they cut it for me). I used the wood to originate a platform base on my Queen bed frame (seee uploaded pictures). After unrolling mattres and placing it on wood, t was not a full 12inches yet, but it was already fluffing up to 9inches. There was minimal odor. I left overhead fans on and windows open for 1 day. Next day my boyfriend and I slept on it. I didn't even consideration him toss or turn. I know it's not the same as a $2,000 to $5,000 temperpedic, but it is damn close sufficient for me. It feels great and I am sleeping like a dream. My boyfriend and mother were impressed with price, quailty and ease of set up and shipping. After eading reiews, I chose this bed because it had the least estimate of negative feedback. I am man who has used pillowtop mattresses in the past, I do not like a super firm mattress. I think this is a nice mix of support, but comfort. My boyfriend and I commonly differ some in our matress taste, but he likes this one. He doesn't even feel me get out of bed in the morning before him. I don't consideration if he gets up either. The bamboo coer sheet protector is nice so I didn't buy a seperate mattress cover. We left it in our spare bedroom for a week and then switched mattresses from spare room to ours. Perfect! Smell pretty much gone (unless you stick your face right in it). I got a soft bed topper to cushion the firmness somewhat. Added authentically comfy sheets. Bliss! I like the fact that I no longer feel like I am all the time rolling into my hubby, who is half again my size and there is no bouncing around when either he or I move around. My four year old grandson came to stay with us when his whole family, along with him, had the flu last week and he wanted to sleep in our bed. Seriously, we had a authentically hard time getting him out of the bed. His mom called to check on him and he said he wanted in stay at our house because he was soooo comfy in our bed. And petite kids don't lie about something like that. After five days of illness, that was the first time I saw that child sound asleep. I know it wasn't just the bed, but it helped and he never once mentioned the smell. Also, he has minor breathing problems, (since birth) and there was no reaction to this mattress. So. If you want a very uncostly priced mattress, want firmness and preserve with no bounce and are not too sensitive to smell. This mattress could be a very good fit. We are very pleased. Read more.

It came packaged nicely and the first night on my hospital bed i have at home i can't tell you the pressure it took off my back and the comfort. Best price!: We weren't expecting much, and we got even less. It was made of splintery, poorly sanded 'C' grade lumber and most of the bolts, all washers, and all but one nut were missing from an already minimal set. We ended up buying the proper hardware, using 24 screws instead of 6, and we stapled a fabrice over the lowest of the foundation to forestall spiders and insects from taking up house in the thing. We should have pulled the cover tight and stapled it, too, but we didn't. My brother-in-law said, "Jeeze, why didn't you just make one up out of plywood? You would have saved over $150.00." Ok but great ways to spend money: I bought this foundation to replace an aging foundation that had stared sagging and creaking when weight was put on it. I live one state over from the distributor, so I received it the day after it shipped, less than a week after ordering. It comes in a tall (about 6.5 ft) box that weighs about 55 lbs, so while it's a small awkward, one someone can move it. The outer wood box pieces are partially assembled, so that you only have to join the head and foot pieces to the side and middle pieces with dowels (already in place) and bolts. One someone can assemble this with small difficulty. The top slats, which are spaced and held to each other with canvas ribbon, are rolled out on top of the assembled box and fastened with six screws. The foundation comes with all hardware requisite for assembly. The box also includes an appropriately sized wrench, though a ratchet with a 1/2 bolt will speed up assembly. The six screws that hold the top slats to the foundation box accumulate three of the slats, but if like me you don't want the rest of the slats loose, you can accumulate them to the box with double-sided mounting tape (the kind with padding between the adhesive layers). The cover is a custom-sized ticking that slips over the top side of the box and tightens with a drawstring with a plastic locking ball, like you'd find on a laundry bag. Overall, easy assembly, the potential is comparable to the old box foundation I had (which lasted nine years), and now my bed doesn't screech when I get in it. Just what I had in mind. Read more.

Comfortable Mattress: I bought this mattress in August to use while recovering from surgery. Bedrooms in our house are upstairs, which took more power than I had for a few weeks. The mattress arrived quickly and was straightforward to unfold and set up. It is fairly heavy, so I need help to move it, but my juvenile son can haul it nearby with no help.

I was implicated that the mattress might be too firm, but I sleep well on it. I have had the mattress for two months now, use it ordinarily and enjoy the relax and convenience of the bed on the main floor.

I read concerns about the smell of a memory foam mattress. When chance the mattress, I noticed a little smell, but nothing that bothered me. My juvenile son's comment: "it smells good." Our cat quickly made himself comfortable on the mattress, so the smell did not bother him.

I was especially glad to have this memory foam mattress after reading about the Swedish study showing a inherent link between box spring mattresses and cancer.

I tried this mattress for a week and ultimately decided i wanted to order something that I plan might give me more support. I googled 5 pound memory foam, which is significantly more dense than this one. I ultimately ordered the Sensus memory foam pad in the 3" version which is about twice the cost of this pad, but with the twin Xl sized bed in my room, this was manageable. The disagreement is well worth the price, I must say. It had exactly what was not in this pad, Support! It is rated up there with Tempurpedic at 1/3 of the price. Don't be fooled into thinking you're getting a discount on this stock with the price slash shown, believe me, it isn't true memory foam, and I'm sure they're making a killing on these pads. I absolutely feel like This pad is more overpriced than the Sensus pad, which you absolutely feel like you're getting a ability product. This spongy pad isn't the worst thing in the world, but if a real memory foam pad which absolutely provides the benefits of memory foam is out of your budget, save yourself the money and get one of those spongy egg-carton style pads, they are about the same.
